BulletCalc3 automatically computes key ballistic parameters such as feet per second (FPS), bullet energy, and drop due to gravity across multiple ranges—100, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 1000 yards.

Note: The aerodynamic drag coefficient employed is proprietary to BulletCalc3 and may differ from published values. Users can calibrate or refine this coefficient by inputting trajectory data from ammunition boxes or conducting range observations with chronographs and bench mounts. This calibration enhances the model's accuracy at any distance.

Recognizing phenomena like sound barrier turbulence and bullet shape-related aerodynamic fluctuations—which influence all ballistic calculators—BulletCalc3 prioritizes simplicity to minimize discrepancies between modeled and measured data during rapid smartphone-based calculations.

The application enables instantaneous calculations of velocity and energy at any chosen range, empowering users to become proficient marksmen.

Within the "GRAPH DATA" section, you can select units such as MOA (Minute of Arc), mrad (milliradians), zero setting in yards, or metric equivalents like meters/mil. To adjust gun sight zero, use the "CHANGE UNITS" button, scroll to the bottom, modify the value, and save your settings.

The gun sight zero calculation models the parabolic gravitational arc based on muzzle velocity; slower speeds at longer zeros produce higher firing angles, corresponding to steeper elevation adjustments.

The "RIFLEMAN'S RULE" and tiltmeter accelerometer features—found within the "Change Units" menu—allow for precise measurement of slant angles using laser rangefinder data. Pressing "EXPORT Distance" updates both bullet drop calculations and associated datasets.

The interactive text field within the "GRAPH DATA" feature enables detailed descriptions of calculation parameters such as caliber, muzzle velocity, projectile mass, and aerodynamic drag coefficient. These descriptions automatically populate when performing calculations or selecting calibers from the menu.

You can copy these ballistic parameter details to the clipboard via the copy-to-clipboard function—by tapping on mrad, MOA, yards/mil values—highlighted with a quick flash in red. Pasted into notes, messages, or emails, these details assist in comprehensive ballistic reporting.
